So, what's happening you ask?

Photography wise, I now officially own too many cameras. It's that simple. Just too many. If anyone wants to buy a few film cameras, give me a call.

I've been shooting a lot with film, but I'm lazy so I don't scan it that often. Besides, I want to revamp my dA account. I've always seen my gallery as a way to share my evolution as a photographer. Starting with the "easy" postcard photos, then to more elaborate compositions and color moods, than to sports, flash work, portraits, studio work, post-processing experiments, etc etc.

The result is a very broad line of subjects, that I see not as a portfolio but instead as a showcase of continuous technical evolution. I might change the orientation of the gallery, to a more conventional (and thus less personal in a way) collection of photos. I don't know.. let's wait and see. There's always the possibility that I will be too busy to care, and just leave it like the way it is...

And besides photography?

Concerts, music-festivals, work (LOTS OF IT), partying with friends, old friends, new friends, friends! I'm traveling this summer, adventure-style, I hope to bring lots of photos (not so sure I'll post them though )

Happy 2007!! I hope you had fun over the hollidays.

So... What's up?

I went to London for the new year... I already knew London at daytime, now I went to get to know London at night. I had friends there, and they took me to the right places, whether in more sophisticated clubs whether on underground parties where even the WC had its own security guy... All in all lots of adventures and stories to tell. I had a blast of a time. I already miss the kebabs, the tate slides, the girls, the partying, the starbucks hot chocolate when you were freezing and soaked wet...

Photography wise I decided to take my old Praktica film SLR, and a few rolls of Ilford HP5 B&W ASA400. I wanted to have a fast film that would allow me to capture the darkish London, and I wanted grain... lots of it! I also wanted to be able to shoot in daylight, and since the max shutter speed is 1/1000, ASA400 seemed like a good compromise. I wasn't looking for technical perfection, but for roughness, for authenticity, for seized moments.

Tragedy struck when I discovered that the camera had developed a malfunction that kept the film stuck inside the chamber... In the end, from the 4 rolls that I shot, two were lost, and two were "saved".

I still have a few photos to show you, hope you like them

Camera is off to repair, it will be back soon!
